Message From the School
At Bridgewood Educational Services we believe that the greatest achievement is being able to start, while a close second, is being able to survive long enough to reach a stage where it is possible to thrive. In an ever-changing business landscape that is characterised by complex political dynamics and restrictive legislation and regulation we pride ourselves on having been able to start a journey of impacting the lives of millions of South Africans.
Despite numerous challenges we have continuously managed to remain afloat as we continue to build a strong enough platform to support what is to become a thriving educational services company in the Southern African region.
OUR SCHOOL
Who Are We?
Bridgewood is a multi-functional, multi-purpose and multi-faceted educational services company that specialises in providing dynamic solutions to challenges which exist both in the basic and higher education sectors. Our company offers products and services that are fit for purpose and need specific. To this end the spectrum of products and services that we offer is diverse and far reaching. We are a company that is bursting with youthful exuberance, activated potential and a strong willingness to get things done.
Our Vision
Our vision is of a country whose core identity resonates with education, skills development and a culture of entrepreneurialism. We believe this can be achieved by building schools that inculcate a high moral fibre in learners while prioritizing an education system that aligns with the development of an economically sustainable Africa.
Our Mission
Our collective mission is to use education and schools -specifically- as tools to drive sustainable and scalable economic growth within the country. We believe that education is essential in equipping the youth of South Africa with the requisite skills and knowledge to make them employable and/or entrepreneurial. We further believe that the brick-and-mortar structures that are schools and institutions act as conduits for mass human gathering and interaction and as a result present an ideal opportunity to develop economic activity centred around them.
These fundamental assertions allow us to have a strong conviction that the economic identity of a successful South Africa will be mirrored by a country that has placed a high priority on education and has built massive schools that act as economic drivers while serving their stated purpose of equipping learners/students with the requisite skills and knowledge needed to make them employable and/or entrepreneurial.
Our Values & Core Beliefs
At Bridgewood we believe in the shared value principle of Ubuntu. We believe that the extent to which this principle is applied should not be rigid but rather it should underpin the moral aesthetic of everything we do. We believe that a broad application of Ubuntu will fundamentally change how we conduct ourselves at home, at school, at the workplace and in society at large.
Schools are the cornerstone of modern society hence we believe that if we are to achieve a transformative society that is built on the principles of Ubuntu, the school must mirror the societal projection which we seek to attain.
Challenges & Threats
Our company exists in a space where there is limited government funding and intervention for start-up companies run by young people. Hence the need for strategic ingenuity, tactical guile and innovative thinking is extremely high at all times. This is especially true when trying to mitigate the potential threat posed by cashflow shortages and funding deficiencies.
Our chosen sector of operation is riddled with longstanding regulation and legislation which makes it challenging to bring about meaningful change at this time. As a sector that deals with human interaction and human connection, the impending threat of COVID19 also has put us on high alert as we seek to ensure that we build strategies that allow our clients to receive the best possible products and services even in the midst of this pandemic.
