DOE RECOVERS FROM STORM IN FREE STATE

The Department of Education has released a statement following the storm that affected one of their marking centres in Free State.

According to the DBE they have managed to recover all scripts following the damage caused by a strom in the Free State. Chief Director of Communications, Elijah Mhlanga had this to say, "The markers at the storm-damaged centre in Thaba Nchu have been relocated to another school in Bloemfontein. Marking has been in full swing since this morning. Everybody is safe and at work. Counselling is continuing as some have confirmed that they are traumatised"

Mhlanga further stated, "I respect these men and women! They tell about how they chose to save the exam scripts first before saving their own lives saying they knew that behind every answer sheet there is a young person’s life. They saved almost every piece of paper in the storm that ravaged Thaba-Nchu."
